Yes, some people don’t like Valentine’s Day, while others simply LOVE it! Yes, retailers charge more for flowers on this particular day than other days. And yes, you should show your loved ones how you feel about them all the time! But really…Valentine’s Day is fun! That’s it! It’s just another excuse to celebrate the loves in your life.

And the loves in my life…couldn’t be any sweeter!! When I married David, I thought my love for him couldn’t get any deeper. I was wrong…SO wrong. Every day, we learn more about one another, learn FROM each other, share experiences that bring us closer, and simply LIVE together. We have chosen to live our two very different lives TOGETHER! Our two very different lives that are becoming more and more alike. One of our favorite songs by Iron & Wine says it best…

“And I have to speculate
That God himself did make us into
Corresponding shapes like puzzles pieces
From the clay”

I again didn’t think that my love could get much deeper for David than when I was growing our little llama. And then she was born.

Every day since her arrival, I fall more and more in love with my husband and my daughter. Every day, I am thankful for them in ways I could never show. Every day I try and show them just how special they are to me. And today is no exception, but it is Valentine’s Day…

Our sweet little llama is 9 months old today! And to kick off her 9 month birthday, we stayed up all night! Woo hoo…partaaaaay!!! Ummmm…not exactly! We did however, stay up much of the night…with much thanks to those precious little pearly whites! She was pretty cranky with her first tooth, not bad with her second, and holy terribleness with her third! I will followup with the fact that it is a top tooth, and it seems as though those are quite nasty little boogers! And I think I spotted another one trying to come in on the bottom. Poor button sauce!

Now…onto her newest and latests acheivements:

• she can CRAWL!!! All over the place
• she can go from sitting to standing and standing to sitting. The standing to sitting has just happenend (well, happened with intent) in the last couple days. It is so great! She is NOT a graceful plopper! That’s right…she plopps…like “oh I see something I want over there” and plopp right to her toosh and off she goes! It is so great, that I tried to get video of it tonight and a big ol’ nothing! Oh wait, that’s not entirely true. As soon as I turned off the camera (the camera that stayed on for 15 minutes), bam…PLOPP! Oh well.
• more teeth are coming in (see above)!
• she finally says “Mama”. I’m not quite convinced that she says it with me in mind, but nonetheless, its stinkin’ cute when it comes out of her mouth.
• she went potty on her toilet for the first time!!!! We are slowly working on it day by day! Ambitious of us…yes. So ambitious that when we tried twice last night she peed twice on the living room rug about 2 minutes after we took her off her toilet. Work in progress
• takes baths in the big bath tub now. Its really fun to see her play around.
• has been caught on multiple occasions chewing on the dog bone! Ha…gross!
• can point to mommy’s nose (although David doesn’t believe this! But she has done it a handful of times!!)
• is SO, SO close to clapping!
• loves to play and suck on my hair. When she is sleepy, she will wrap her hands around my neck, snuggle in, and play with my hair. It melts me!
• she can share!! I have been working on this with her for a bit, and she has finally been doing it the last couple days! This also melts me She gets very proud of herself after she gives something to me and I say thank you! She likes it!!

The list could go on I’m sure, as I find everything that Maeve does quite incredible! But for now this will do…

Two months ago, Maeve took her first couple crawls…then…BAM…face to the ground. Since then, she had been reluctanct to crawl…at all. She would rather walk around (either with help or in her walker), but crawling, no thank you!

But, she has finally given into the fact that she can get places by crawling…so crawling it is…

Since this video was taken a couple weeks ago, she has become much more proficient at crawling. She has even started taking a few step unassisted. Next up…walking…

I think Elsie has been our happiest 6 month baby by far! She was all smiles and freaking adorable, and the cold weather didn’t slow her down one bit. I had such a hard time picking…
